Social Anxiety Help - 5 ways to Overcome Social Anxiety Disorder

What would you do if you realize that your overly fear of socializing isn’t bringing you good anymore much worse, you suddenly feel frozen, hard to breath or almost having a heart attack? You have what we call Social Anxiety Disorder. So what do we do to overcome this scenario? When experiencing social anxiety help is what you need. Here are some techniques to help you overcome social anxiety.

  1. Count. Don’t count fast 1-10, count 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004 and so on until you reach 1010. This method helps you to manage quick reactions that can later on be detrimental to your health. It gives you time to think clearly.

  2. Breathe. Breathe in, breathe out deeply. Try to relax. Most people suffering from social anxiety attacks needs to breathe through a paper bag to normalize your breathing.

  3. Focus. Try to think happy thoughts to relax yourself. Picture on your mind the happiest day you ever had, then try to calm down.

  4. Talk. Pep talk yourself. Instead of thinking I can’t do it tell yourself you can.

  5. Call. If you are really experiencing an attack and cannot overcome it all by yourself try to call a friend open up and share. The most logical thing to do after which is to consult a doctor.
